Bleskaze...a rare Pokémon that has never shown itself to humans for centuries...

It has long since been regarded as a mere fairy tale.

But as they approaches Kinsei City for the New Life Festival, Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu begin to see this Pokémon's dreams...

What kind of Pokémon is Bleskaze? Why are his dreams shared with Ash and Pikachu? What role did he play many years ago...?

- Bleskaze: An elusive Pokémon that Ash and Pikachu meet in Kinsei Castle. He's quite friendly and loves flying. Sometime before they met, Bleskaze linked his subconscious with those of Ash and Pikachu, sharing his memories with them.
- Ash Ketchum: The hero of the Pokémon anime, with his partner Pikachu. This time around, they travel the Chuten region, continuing their quest to Pokémon Master-dom. Besides Pikachu, Ash also has Burant, Poppreen, and Panfu in his on-hand party.
- Kari Cedar: Granddaughter of Prof. Cedar of Opalite Town, she aspires to become the best Pokéathlete ever. Her upbeat, hasty nature lends her a massive dose of energy. Her main Pokémon is her grandfather's Snaphoon, and she also has a Punkid, a Naglace, and a very Psyduck-esque Creepast.
- Brock: Former Gym Leader of Pewter City, Brock is a Pokémon Breeder, and something of a paternal figure to Ash and Kari. Of course, his weakness for women doesn't go away, which his partner Seraflite chastises him for with Sweet Kiss. He also has Sudowoodo, Happiny, and Cubone.
- Lady Eve: The guardian of the old Kinsei Castle. Every year, she plays a soothing melody on the Apricorn flute that's been passed down in her family. Her Pokémon team includes Dymnanty, Cherrim, and Apolaris.
- Simon: A mysterious man hidden in seclusion. His goal is to free Bleskaze from a crystal orb that's in his possession. His only known Pokémon is Tessevoid.
- Lady Aislin: A maiden from a smaller village long ago who was brought to Kinsei Village to marry the emperor there. In the midst of her lonely life there, she became friends with the wily Bleskaze.

Kinsei City and the New Life Festival are to be based on Osaka, Japan and the Tenjin Festival. Likewise, Kinsei Castle is based on Osaka Castle.

BLESKAZE: Fortune Pokémon (Dragon/Light or Dragon/Dark)
- Shies from humans, unless it feels that it can trust them. It will even share its good dreams with such people.

BURANT: Fire Ant Pokémon (Fire/Bug)
- Its antennae ignite with a flammable phosphor, providing a light in the dark. It is a very dutiful Pokémon.

POPPREEN: Flower Bird Pokémon (Grass/Flying)
- Very defensive of its territory. If so much as one flower is harmed in it, Poppreen will strike down the intruder.

PANFU: KaratePanda Pokémon (Fighting)
- A very relaxed Pokémon, living in the mountains and eating bamboo. Provoke it enough, though, and it will lash back.

SNAPHOON: Baby Snake Pokémon (Water)
- Its skin has an oily film all around, which cuts down on resistance while swimming. It likes to swim in circles, forming whirlpools.

PUNKID: Gourd Pokémon (Grass/Ghost)
- Its true form is the ethereal light within its manifested shell. It hangs from branches with the vine on its head.

NAGLACE: Snakeman Pokémon (Fighting/Ice)
- Attracted to whatever shines, they often live near rivers. There's bad blood between Naglace and Garada.

CREEPAST: Wormhole Pokémon (Bug/Space)
- It is known to zone out a lot. It often travels through the use of wormholes, reaching great distances at times.

SERAFLITE: Cherub Pokémon (Ghost/Light)
- Said to have been born from a pure heart. Affectionate and kind, it will gladly lend a helping hand.

DYMNANTY: Clay King Pokémon (Rock/Time)
- An incredibly noble guardian, it will stay by its master, through his or her life and death.

APOLARIS: Sun Pokémon (Fire/Space)
- Its mane provides sunlight even in the dead of night. Many farmers have an Apolaris on hand.

TESSEVOID: Tesseract Pokémon (Time/Flying)
- Said to have been born in another dimension. It uses Tesseracts to trap its prey.
